Richard,

When I first started playing mail administrator, way before OS X, there were only a few choices available for OS 9. They broke down into commercial and free catagories. Being with a smaller firm, I opted for the free software. I ran Stalker Software's SIMS for years, without any problems, on ancient (I mean ancient) machines. The mailing list provided a great support tool, being manned by fellow users that were involved in day to day operations.

Your software documentation effort provides a close parallel to the SIMS project. If you would install phpBB on your server, so that users could exchange advice, you will have duplicated the Stalker environment. (But I don't know how big the user base is using your project).

Privately, I've been refering to the mail server setup as RIMS (Richard's Internet Mail Server) as a play on words. Oh, and I'm still running it on a older machine, the first of the new world Macs (B/W G3, 10.4.5, 450MHz, 1GB RAM, 80 GB disk)
